12 Hour Pillars
The day splits into twelve two-hour periods, each ruled by one of the twelve Yellow Road or Black Road spirits. The Zi hour straddles midnight, so it appears twice: early Zi opens the day and late Zi closes it, each with its own pillar. Each hour also lists the almanac's own "Good for" and "Avoid". That is a separate method from the ruling spirit, so the two can disagree; an hour both call good is the safest pick.

Pillar Interactions
The stems and branches of the Year, Month and Day pillars interact through combination, clash, punishment, harm and destruction. Together these decide whether the day's energy gathers or scatters.

Two directly opposite branches collide, bringing movement and upheaval. Better for travel and relocation than for signing or finalising.
