12 Hour Pillars
The day splits into twelve two-hour periods, each ruled by one of the twelve Yellow Road or Black Road spirits. The Zi hour straddles midnight, so it appears twice: early Zi opens the day and late Zi closes it, each with its own pillar. Each hour also lists the almanac's own "Good for" and "Avoid". That is a separate method from the ruling spirit, so the two can disagree; an hour both call good is the safest pick.

Ten Gods: Today for Each Day Master
The day's Heavenly Stem plays a different Ten God for every Day Master. Find yours to see whether today arrives as wealth, authority, resource or peer energy.
| Day Master | Today's Ten God | Today's focus |
|---|---|---|
| JiaWood | Eating God | Expression flows and the mood is easy. Good for creating, presenting, and time spent with people you enjoy. |
| YiWood | Hurting Officer | Talent shows, but so does a sharp tongue. Display your work; do not take on your boss or the rule-makers. |
| BingFireDay stem | Friend | Peers stand beside you today, so joint effort carries weight. Rivalry over the same prize is the risk: settle the split up front. |
| DingFire | Rob Wealth | Money leaks out today and others may claim a share. Avoid lending, guarantees and impulse spending. |
| WuEarth | Indirect Seal | The mind runs deep and slightly sideways. Good for solitary study and unconventional subjects; do not overthink. |
| JiEarth | Direct Seal | Support and mentors are available. Good for asking advice, learning, and signing things that protect you. |
| GengMetal | Seven Killings | Pressure comes head-on today. Hold your ground rather than pushing, and watch your health and the unexpected. |
| XinMetal | Direct Officer | Rules and reputation matter today. Good for formal settings, paperwork and anything touching promotion. |
| RenWater | Indirect Wealth | Networking and new openings favour you today, with side income in reach. Test small rather than betting big. |
| GuiWater | Direct Wealth | Steady, earned money is the theme. Good for invoicing, quoting, salary talks and tidying your finances. |
Pillar Interactions
The stems and branches of the Year, Month and Day pillars interact through combination, clash, punishment, harm and destruction. Together these decide whether the day's energy gathers or scatters.

Two directly opposite branches collide, bringing movement and upheaval. Better for travel and relocation than for signing or finalising.
